Halfway through 2021, Utah’s overall economy is on the rebound and the state’s commercial real estate and construction industry is soaring, with a few exceptions.

The past year has caused businesses to rapidly adapt and consider new issues such as working from home and the accelerated shift from in-person shopping to online shopping as part of a sound commercial real estate strategy. And, while these issues have a put a strain on retail and office space, they have increased demand for other sectors, including warehouse and multifamily space.

In this second episode of Altabanking, a business podcast geared toward elevating your financial future, Altabank’s Stan Sorensen sits down with Ryan Jones, Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer at Altabank to discuss all things commercial real estate, from construction, to labor and inflation, to lending and everything between.

Jones shares his perspective on the current commercial real estate climate in Utah and where he believes things are headed, as well as how Utah’s businesses can think strategically about their real estate needs to ensure optimal decisions in the current and quickly changing commercial real estate environment.
