John Miller – Altabanking Interview KSL Radio Transcript:
Segment title: Miller Toyota on Understanding Customer Needs
GRANT: Welcome to Altabanking. Weekly business talk geared toward elevating your financial future. John Miller is General Manager of Mark Miller Toyota. Welcome, John. Can you share with us some insight on today’s new normal consumer and a few ways Mark Miller Toyota has innovated to meet consumer’s evolving needs?
JOHN: Yeah, thank you for having me. This has been a 20-year process with the advent of the internet and how it’s effected our business. Customers now have so much more information than they had in the past. They can research, figure out payments, figure out what their vehicles are worth. They’re able to just continue and do more of that from the safety of their home. And we just need to figure out how to meet them.
GRANT: Share with us some of the ways Mark Miller Toyota is helping customers reach their goals?
JOHN: It goes with transparency and giving them the information they need, so they need to know what inventory looks like, they need to know what their payments would be, what their trade-in is worth. We just try to give them all the tools they can use for that process.
GRANT: Talk about the importance of spending local and the benefits to the consumer and our community.
JOHN: Salt Lake is just an amazing community, Salt Lake and Utah and we’re a major part of that. We have 30-40 different vendors that we use locally that help us sell cars and fix cars – body shops, accessory places. And so we just think the more we can put in the economy, the more people have to spend.
GRANT: You know, somebody might think that because of the pandemic this might not be a good time to buy, but actually this is a great time to buy.
JOHN: Yeah, we’re selling everything we have. Inventories are a little thin, so get in quick to find your right car.
GRANT: Ok John, thanks so much. Thanks for being on Altabanking. Altabanking is brought to you by Altabank. Member FDIC.
