Altabank Invites Community to Unite with Cache Food Pantry in Effort to Combat Food Insecurity
Altabank™, Utah’s largest community bank, recently made a $5,800 donation to Cache Food Pantry. The inaugural donation marks the commencement of the business sponsorship of five local high school food pantries. The overall goal is to stock every school in the area with essential food supplies, highlighting Altabank's dedication to fostering community involvement and leadership.
"We believe in the power of community and understand the profound impact that addressing food insecurity can have on the lives of individuals and families,” said Randy Fischer, SVP and Stateline Region Manager at Altabank. “Altabank is honored to support Cache Food Pantry's initiative to stock schools with food. Through raising awareness and inspiring collective action, we aim to foster a stronger and more resilient community for everyone, and we hope this encourages other businesses to join us in making a positive impact."
Food insecurity remains a pressing issue in Utah, affecting one in ten children in Utah. In many cases, school meals may be the only meal that students get in a day. The partnership between Altabank and Cache Food Pantry underscores the urgent need to address this challenge and brings attention to the crucial role community organizations play in creating a positive impact.
"We are so grateful for Altabank's commitment to the well-being of our community,” said Matt Whitaker, director of Cache Food Pantry. “Their generous donation will play a crucial role in ensuring that schools have the necessary resources to address food insecurity among students. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need."
