Third-party online monitoring

Authorize a third party to monitor your finances through free online banking (including email alerts for low balances and recent transactions) or through printed monthly statements. Third-party monitoring may be added to any account and is especially helpful when you have a “helper” accessing your account. It allows a third party to watch out for financial exploitation and see whether the helper is acting in your best interest. The third party may only view the account and will not have the ability to perform transactions on your behalf.

Automatic Transfers

Set up a second individual checking account on which a helper has access. Automatic transfers can then be set up from your primary checking account to the second checking account, limiting the amount of money to which the helper has access.

Power of Attorney

If you need help with your finances, you may use a power of attorney to authorize a trusted helper to act on your behalf in specific transactions such as making deposits, writing checks, using a debit card and using online banking associated with your account. You may choose to allow the helper to continue acting on your behalf in the event you become incapacitated. The helper’s authority ends upon your death or if you revoke it earlier.

Automatic Bill Pay

For convenience, or if you have trouble remembering to pay bills but don’t want to put someone else in charge of doing this for you, set up automatic bill pay through online banking. This allows you to schedule one-time or recurring bill payments to help ensure that bills are paid on time.

ATM & Night Deposit

Withdraw cash after hours by using your Altabank debit card at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) 24 hours a day. 

Deposit cash and checks after hours using a secure drop box called the night depository. Deposits placed here in a zippered or locked bag are processed the following business day.

Foreign Currency

We can help you exchange foreign currency for U.S. dollars.† You can also order and pay for foreign currency with U.S. dollars,† which typically takes 1-2 business days.

† There is a $12 shipping fee to order or sell foreign currency.


Direct Deposit / ACH Transfers

Through the Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) network, you can receive recurring third-party deposits into your account, such as a paycheck or government benefit payments like Social Security. You can also set up ACH transfers to send money out of your account for online bill payments.

Wire Transfer

Send money electronically from your Altabank account to other U.S. domestic accounts. Wire transfers typically move funds within one business day, as opposed to ACH transfers, which may take up to three business days. Fees apply.

Safe Deposit Box

Rent one of our safe deposit boxes inside our bank vaults for the private and safe storing of valuables.* Safe deposit box sizes range from 3×5 inches up to 10×10 inches. Contents are not insured by the FDIC or by Altabank.

Cashiers Check

Cashier’s checks are a special type of check supplied and guaranteed by Altabank. Their purchase requires funds to be available so that we can guarantee payment to the check’s recipient. Fees may apply.
